The J&K Police have slapped the Public Safety Act (PSA) on Kashmiri Journalist Fahad Shah and arrested him a day before his bail application was scheduled to come up for hearing. Previously, the police had re-arrested the journalist, even though the court had granted him bail on two occasions.
Khurram Parvez has worked extensively to document serious human rights violations, including enforced disappearances and unlawful killings, in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. In his search for accountability, Parvez has been the victim of a number of incidents of reprisals reportedly for sharing this information with the United Nations, as documented in various reports of the Secretary-General and communications from UN special procedures mandate holders.
On Friday March 4, the Bharatiya Janata Party government in Haryana introduced the Haryana Prevention of Unlawful Conversion of Religious Bill, 2022 in the Vidhan Sabha. This step by the Haryana government follows similar moves by Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Karnataka, all BJP run states. 04 मार्च 1921 को अररिया, बिहार के औराही हिंगना में जन्मे फणीश्वर नाथ रेणु मैट्रिक पास करने के बाद आगे की पढ़ाई के लिए बीएचयू गए, मगर 1942 में राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी के आह्वान पर उन्होंने भारतीय स्वतंत्रता आंदोलन में बढ़-चढ़कर हिस्सा लिया. स्वभाव से क्रांतिकारी रेणु ने देश में आपातकाल लगने पर पद्मश्री और बिहार सरकार की तरफ से मिलने वाले ₹300 पेंशन को लौटा दिया था.
2 जुलाई सन् 1948 में बिहार मुंगेर जिले में जन्मे आलोक धन्वा की पहली कविता ‘जनता का आदमी’ 1972 में ‘वाम’ पत्रिका में प्रकाशित हुई थी।

लेकिन साल 2022 में बिहार में ‘गौरक्षा’ का मामला फिर से चर्चा में है. वजह है समस्तीपुर में हुई एक हत्या. 16 फ़रवरी 2022 को समस्तीपुर के मुसरीघरारी में रहने वाले खलील को अगवा कर लिया जाता है. खलील जब काफ़ी देर तक घर वापस नहीं आते हैं तो खलील की पत्नी उन्हें कॉल करती हैं तो कोई व्यक्ति फ़ोन उठा कर कहता है- “खलील अब वापस नहीं आएगा अगर ज़िन्दा देखना है तो 2 लाख 70 हज़ार रुपया दो.”
