A couple of days back, a group of Hindutva terrorists had lynched a Muslim Bangle Seller in the state. His crime was that he had decided to sell his bangles in a predominantly Hindu neighbourhood. Far from taking action Hindutva terrorists, the Shivraj Singh Chouhan administration had booked the poor bangle seller for allegedly misbehaving with a young girl.
And within a week of the Indore incident another 45-year-old Jaheer Khan, a hawker selling toast on the road was beaten up by two men in Dewas district of Madhya Pradesh after he failed to produce an Aadhaar card to prove his identity, police said on 26th August,Thursday.
When he told them that he did not have the card, they allegedly abused him and beat him with sticks and belts, said additional superintendent of police (rural) Suryakant Sharma.
“Both are residents of Borli village and I have seen them in the village in the past, I recognise them from their faces and they have warned me not to enter the village again,” Khan was quoted as saying by India Today.
And in the latest incident, a tribal man in Neemuch district of Madhya Pradesh died after being beaten up, tied to a pickup van and dragged on the road. A video of the incident that occurred on August 26 went viral on social media attracting widespread condemnation.
On Saturday 28th August, the Superintendent of Police of Neemuch, Suraj Kumar Verma, said that a case of murder under Indian Penal Code and atrocities under the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act, has been registered against eight identified accused and five of them have been arrested. Also, the vehicles, including the pickup, have been seized by the police and police are searching for the other three accused, the SP told mediapersons.
According to police sources, the FIR says the victim, Kanhaiyalal alias Kanha Bhil, was looking for his wife, allegedly missing since the previous night on the Neemuch-Singoli Road under the Ratangarh police station. Even as he was standing on the road looking at the passing vehicles in search of his wife, he collided with a speeding motorcycle of main accused Chhitarmal Gurjar, 32, a resident of Patan. Due to the collision, both fell and the milk in the containers on the motorcycle of Gurjar split.
Kanhaiyalal’s friend Govind Nai (the complainant) who was with him escaped as Chhitarmal called up his friends after the incident. Later, Kanha was beaten up, tied to a passing vehicle and dragged for a few metres, police sources said. He sustained grievous injuries in the process and succumbed at the Neemuch district hospital later.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren tweeted, “Absolutely shocked at this horrific incident. Every passing day, tribals & other marginal communities across the country are being treated with absolute indignity, hatred & apathy. I request @ChouhanShivraj ’ji to take strong swift actions in this matter.”
Soren’s request for action may fall on deaf ears of Chouhan, who has single-handedly turned Madhya Pradesh into a lawless state. The state has seen a rapid rise of Hindutva terrorism with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ chanting mob often terrorising hapless Muslims.
In the latest development, Hindutva terrorists attacked a poor Muslim daily-wage worker in the Ujjain district and forced him to chant Jai Shri Ram.
There is no single day pass without any hate crimes committed against the vulnerable sections of this country. This same week a Muslim Dosa vendor in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh was attacked by Hindutva Terrorist for naming his stall after a Hindu god.
