AMU students won the 3rd prize in Petrofesta’15 conference held in IIT Kharagpur

A Department of  Petroleum Studies, Aligarh Muslim University team of students, which participated in the PETROFESTA ’15 Conference held at the IIT Kharagpur campus was placed third among participating teams of 10 top-notch engineering colleges from all over India.

Meanwhile, Shahzen Khan and Abdullah Gilani of the Department of Petroleum Studies, AMU also bagged the first place with a cash prize of Rs 7000 for their paper presentation on the topic, ‘Detention of Adulteration in Gasoline’ at the PETROFESTA 15.

“The conference consisted of many events including guest lectures from senior employees of renowned firms such as KGPM, Cairn, PWC and ONGC,” said Professor Mohammad Kamil, Chairman, Department of Petroleum studies. He added that events of quiz and ‘problems-statements’ regarding the industrial and management point of view of the oil and gas industry also took place during the conference.

Prof Kamil also said that AMU students Mohd Shahab, Utrakash Agarwal, Danish Ahmad and Mohd Nadeem qualified the final round of the ‘industrial development problem’ event during the conference.
