Founder’s Day celebration in Aligarh Muslim University

The day of great visionary scholar and educationist “Sir Syed’s” 198th birth anniversary celebrated at Kennedy Hall, Aligarh Muslim University. 

The commemoration had Mr. P.K. Abdu Rabb, Minister of Education & Cultural, Government of Kerala as the chief guest. He is the alumnus of the university. This was presided by Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah, Vice chancellor of the University

The prize distribution ceremony for various competitions like All India Sir Syed essay writing, quiz, calligraphy etc. took place.

A reprise version of Amu tarana was also released and was highly applauded.

The VC showed concern for the university student Alamgeer, who was shot dead in the campus area.

Lt Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah quoted”AMU one by 2017″ which meant that we all have to unite educationally, morally and culturally to make AMU number one university till 2017. In spite of regional and religion intolerances, AMU will be a hub of academic activities with peace and will restore its former glory.

It was the moment of pride that according to Times Higher Education,London AMU has been ranked No. 2 university and the Department of Mathematics has been ranked 69th in the whole world.

The Faculty of International Studies will be the 13th faculty of the university. The Government of India had sanctioned 8 departments.The bridge courses had been accepted by the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

The VC proclaimed that he will denote the maximum attention to the foundation of AMU, that is, its schools.

A memento was given to the chief guest and the Sir Syed Day Commemoration Ceremony ended with AMU tarana.

 “Jo abr yaha se uthega,

 Wo saare jahan pe barsega”.
