During campaigning for the 2014 elections, Narendra Modi, as the prime minister candidate of BJP had talked about curbing corruption. With elections won, that too with full majority, now the confidential and inappropriate help of former BCCI chief by two famous and senior ladies of the government has hit a big question mark on the government’s face.
Few days earlier in Delhi, there were talks about certain enquiries on these two BJP ladies that one of them may have to leave her chair or both of them will be safe. But, the government not only denied from the blame but also fully supported Sushma Swaraj and later Vasundhra Raje after a bit of hot talks within the party.
Though the government and party are in support of these two ladies, but media as well as political sphere believes that the government’s reputation has been affected and consequently they’ll have to face certain severe problems in future, because Modi came into power with the promise to fight against corruption, but now two of the most senior ladies of the government, keeping the government and Indian officials in dark, were found establishing connections with foreign governments. Meanwhile there are proofs that family members of Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhra Raje had certain financial deals and helps with Lalit Modi.
Sushma Swaraj initially had accepted that she helped Lalit Modi to seek British travelling documents for his tours outside London. The reason for the sake of humanity by her can’t be accepted after all she had helped a man who has charges of converting black money into white with other severe charges on him.
Likely, Vasundhra Raje had also written letters to British government and had also asked them that the information of this ‘help’ of her to Lalit Modi should not be given to Indian Officials.
There are proofs that between the family members of Sushma Swaraj and Vasundhra Raje and Lalit Modi, there were good relations as well as they had certain financial deals which no one can deny.
The best example for this is that when a court in Delhi was about to give its decision on Modi’s seizer passport, the daughter of Sushma Swaraj (head of the foreign ministry) projected herself as the lawyer of Modi. Point to be noted here is that the passport of Modi was seized by the foreign ministry headed by Shushma Swaraj. Ironically, foreign ministry lost the case to Modi and Sushma Swaraj’s daughter the reason for not challenging the decision in Supreme Court by the foreign ministry is no mystery.
Moreover, Vasundhra Raje’s son’s company which was in huge loss; its shares were bought by Lalit Modi at high prices can’t be just business as what the government is saying in defence of its leaders. It clearly depicts the relation between family members of these two leaders and Lalit Modi.
This whole matter is a head ache for Prime Minister Narendra Modi not only because it is related to corruption but also because this whole thing has lead to various disputes and groupings within the government.
Narendra Modi is still silent and his silence is not good for the upcoming session of the parliament. There are questions on enquiries and charges on Lalit Modi too. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is still confused with a question mark on his face.
